Lim Nyuk Shan (Shan) transitioned from a career in corporate technology to pursuing fine art. Through this transition, she developed an attentiveness to the present, which informs her interest in reflection within everyday life and lived environments. Her practice is shaped by spontaneous encounters and exchanges, and an attuned sensitivity to surroundings, from personal encounters to shared spaces.

Working primarily with painting and installation, Shan explores how awareness and presence are shaped through lived experience. She sees art as a bridge for outreach and actively participates in community art projects, creative workshops, and collaborative initiatives that foster shared experiences and conversation.  

 

Her work has been recognised with the Woon Brothers Foundation Commendation Prize (2025).
